Bve

BVE (Boso View Express), by Takashi Kojima (alias Mackoy), is a cab view train simulator with outside sight over a three-dimensional landscape.

The program, running on personal computer under Windows 98 or later, can be freely downloaded from the author's Internet site. The use of the program is free of charge for personal use, but it cannot be redistributed via media supports or uploaded on other Internet sites.

Two versions of BVE are currently available: versions 2 and 4.

BVE 2, using a graphical resolution of 640x480 pixel, has been built using Visual Basic 6 and requires DirectX libraries version 7 or later.
With 4 BVE, the graphical resolution can be chosen between 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 values. The program has been built using VB.NET and requires the preventive installation of Microsoft DirectX 9 and NET Framework 1.1 libraries.
The two versions of the program can happily cohabit on the same computer, if they are installed in different folders.

The original program comes with an only train and Japanese scene (the Uchibo route), but hundreds of other trains and sceneries from all the world are available on Internet free of charge.

The Internet site of the author is in Japanese, but in the Help sections of http://www.railsimroutes.co.uk/ and http://www.trainsimcentral.co.uk sites, you can find detailed instructions in order to download and install the program and to begin its use. On Bvemania you can find additional Italian trains and routes.
